In my perspective, weight-training is considered a great way to lose weight and get a fit body. At the earlier stages of weight training—for me at least—seems to be a relaxing activity where I just need to do some specific repetitive exercises on a regular basis. Compared to the much strenuous cardio exercises like running or swimming, weight-training can be cathartic and a much-needed way to relax during a stressful period. But ones you start going regularly and you manage to feel the gains, you might need to push yourself a bit more in order to trudge through some plateaus that you might encounter. Ultimately, the thought process to achieve gains at the gym will be to focus on gradual increments in the weights in order to allow your muscles to achieve the break-down and reinforcement cycle which is the back-bone for increasing muscle mass which in turn will allow for an increase in metabolism in your system.
On the other-hand, cardio can be a good way to relax and give your heart and lungs a good workout while eliminating pesky visceral fat which is considered to be the worst kind of fat which negatively affects your well-being. On top that, I consider running my go to do cardio as it is relatively easy to do – just go outside while in your running shoes and run for around 20min or so every day or on once every two days which is more than enough to make you feel a change in your body. Once you sense that you are running lighter and easier you can try to attempt longer distance runs once a week and then twice a week. This system of running though strenuous at first, is in my opinion one of the best ways to feel good about yourself and to bring incremental improvement to your body as well.
Both of the above methods seem to be very apt means to improve your body but if you are an athlete, you should create an exercise regimen where you put together both weight-training, cardio and some practicing the sport. By doing so I believe that this will allow you to achieve gains at least by the 3 months’ time. Good luck and keep going! And remember, “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose!”
